STRANGELY FAMILIAR – street photography
Strangely Familiar is a series of street portraits I started in Rotterdam in December 2019 .
I found the joy and beauty of stopping in a world that runs and taking time to notice and appreciate what surrounds us.
This project was also born due to a sense of alienation that I experienced when moving to a big city without knowing its language.
By setting up a speech with these strangers, taking the appropriate time for each shot, I was able to enter their personal sphere and derive useful information that helped me portray them in the best way.
In fact I see more than a series of portraits, but a testimony of my encounter with these people, a brief and consenting intrusion into the world of these different personalities.
